Passport to Possibilities Experiential Learning Fund
Thanks to generous donors, the Career Services office has established the Passport to Possibilities Experiential Learning Fund. Students seeking to complete otherwise unpaid internships or experiences can compete for grants between $200 to $1000 to help cover their transportation, housing, and other expenses. The internship or experience must be conducted at a nonprofit or government organization.
Grant proposals require a well-written narrative and budget that includes:
specific details about where the student plans to intern or do the experience;
clear information about what the student plans to do through the internship/experience;
how the internship connects with the student's career goals and/or academic aspirations; and
a clear budget stating why you are requesting the funds , how you will make use of them, and the amount you are requesting.
The narrative, budget, and resume are uploaded as attachments to the application (Google form).
Preference will be given to students completing internships or experiences with Hastings College's Community Partners as well as students who, based on their major(s), are not eligible for Dudley-Doerr Student Experiential Learning Fund grants.
Recipients of Passport to Possibilities grants will be required to complete a narrative and financial reporting form within 30 days of completing the internship or experience. We also will seek photos of experiences to further promote the program.
If you are awarded a scholarship from this process, it could have implications to your student financial aid, student account and/ or your IRS 1098-T tax document. Please contact HC Financial Aid or Student Accounts Offices if you have questions. For IRS 1098-T questions, please reach out to your tax professional.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Kim Graviette (kgraviette@hastings.edu or 402-461-7387). Career Services offices are located in the lower level of the Daugherty Student Engagement Center.
